The video game drew six million players during the first 24 hours of its release, breaking the franchise’s previous record of 2.4 million users. But Activision wanted to go even further. They wanted to build more excitement, reaching gamers at home during the pandemic.

Our solution

While fans hunkered down and self-isolated at home, we helped Activision reach and reward gamers using a simple social action. Fans across the nation tweeted #FreeCallOfDuty + 🍕 + #CODPromo for a chance to win free prizes delivered in real time. Our platform drove participants to a custom microsite where fans used our auto-reply functionality to submit details and claim their Warzone prize. We delivered pizzas in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, and Philadelphia within an hour, packaged in a custom COD-branded box. Fans outside those key markets received a $20 DoorDash gift code redeemable for pizza.
