Prince Akeem is back in the long-awaited sequel, Coming 2 America. Before the film’s 2021 release, Prime Video needed to generate awareness and conversation. And what better way than with an infomercial launch announcing the one-night-only comeback of Randy Watson and Sexual Chocolate (that theme song is catchy, isn’t it?). We teamed up with Amazon Studios to treat fans to a chocolate-loving Valentine’s Day surprise for Zamudians around the globe.

To get things started, we worked with @ZamundaRoyals to tweet teasers leading up to the campaign and coordinated early delivery of hundreds of VIP packages to fans. We also worked directly with Eddie Murphy’s team to write campaign copy. On February 13 and 14, we helped Amazon Studios encourage fans in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom to tweet #Coming2America + #Giveaway for a chance to win a box of Sexual Chocolates delivered to their kingdom. Our auto-reply functionality drove participants to a customized microsite where fans entered details to claim their prize. Zamundians in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago received their decadent surprise within one hour of social participation. Other loyal fans received theirs in the mail on Royal First Class, just in time to stream Coming 2 America on Amazon Prime Video.
