In 2021, Kohl’s and Sephora announced that Sephora counters would replace Kohl’s current beauty offerings. With over 200 store launches planned for the year — each carrying around 125 top makeup, skincare, hair, and fragrance brands — they wanted to introduce the offering in each market with a splash. Kohl's approached us for an innovative way to engage fans within specific markets across the nation.

We built a campaign designed to motivate fans in key markets to visit the new Sephora at Kohl’s in their area. The campaign was broken down into four strategic pulses, each targeting a different segment of markets. During each pulse, we encouraged fans to tweet #KohlsFinds + #sweepstakes for a chance to win a premium, curated kit. The custom curated kits included a branded box, $25 Kohl's gift card, and makeup pouch with an assortment of Kohl's and Sephora favorites that varied from pulse to pulse. Each campaign pulse strategically aligned with specific Sephora at Kohl's store openings across 254 individual markets. A combination of on-demand and mailed fulfillment allowed the retail brands to properly scale the campaign — ensuring that Kohl's rewarded fans within the proper markets and also encouraging fans to visit their local store.
