The Super Bowl is one of the biggest moments in sports for brands and for fans. But the next day is often referred to as “Super Monday,” the “Super Bowl Fever,” or even “Smunday” for good reason. Pepsi is known for its iconic Super Bowl Half Time Show and sponsorship. But for Super Bowl LIV, they were looking to take the conversation beyond halftime. One week before game day, Pepsi approached us with the goal of owning the social conversation through Monday with a clear and openly pointed response to a competitor’s ad.
Thank You @Pepsi for the free Pizza and #PepsiZeroSugar Great way to end the Monday after Super Bowl!!! #Whyshowup #PepsiEntry
Our team worked closely with Pepsi to turn their last-minute vision into a scalable social giveaway that drove brand buzz while putting Pepsi Zero Sugar into the hands of consumers in real-time. The Monday after Super Bowl LIV, Pepsi asked, “Why show up?” — praising Super Bowl fanatics who opted to stay home the next morning. To properly reward these dedicated homebodies, Pepsi invited fans to tweet out with #WhyShowUp to win the perfect stay-at-home combo. Once fans tweeted the campaign hashtag, they were directed to a microsite to enter to win. Nearly 2,000 fans in key markets received a Pepsi Zero Sugar, pizza, and campaign postcard delivered to their door within one hour of their social engagement.
- Generated 13.4x more conversation vs. their competitor on the Monday following the Super Bowl - #WhyShowUp trended nationwide and in all targeted markets - Simultaneously fulfilled cold Pepsi product with hot pizza
We’re excited to hear about your team’s upcoming promotions, gifting, and eCommerce needs.
