Background
Fans missed live sports during the pandemic. So for San Antonio Spurs fans, the franchise created a Digital Arena within their official Spurs app. It featured exclusive games, fan chatrooms, live stats, and more. But the Spurs needed to get the word out about the Digital Arena to their best fans. Leveraging an existing partnership with H-E-B grocery stores in Texas, the Spurs asked for our help to drive awareness and increase fan engagement within their app. But it all needed to happen during an upcoming home game against the Orlando Magic.

Our solution
Our teams collaborated to integrate a campaign call to action within the Spurs Official App that would drive engagement. Spurs fanatics could participate in the campaign while watching the Spurs-Magic game in the Digital Arena. Users clicked the "Get your free delivery now!" button to open the microsite natively within the app. Once fans answered specific survey questions and entered their information, they received details about their Digital Arena delivery. Having a seamless experience was crucial, so we made sure fans could navigate from the app to the microsite back to the app easily. To bring the Digital Arena experience into fans' homes, a branded kit with Spurs merchandise — bobblehead, blanket, stickers, sunglasses, PopSocket — and game-day essentials from H-E-B were delivered to local winners near San Antonio and Austin. Digital Arena deliveries arrived on-demand and in the mail to maximize the number of Spurs fanatics rewarded.
